Pages Avoided
We count all pages that would be printed to generate, distribute, and collect physical signatures. We consider the complete document and all people who would need to receive it.
Trees Preserved
We use the international average of 5,000 sheets per tree, a reference adopted by NGOs and corporate environmental calculators for impact estimates.
Water Saved
Paper production consumes 12 liters of water per sheet during pulp preparation, washing, bleaching, and drying. Digital signatures completely eliminate this consumption.
Print Emissions
Printing documents emits carbon through ink production, toner, and equipment electricity. Average factor: 55g of CO2 per page.
Logistics and Transport
Physical documents require travel to notaries and offices. National average: 70km avoided per signer, with emissions of 1,000g of CO2 per km driven.
Total CO2 Avoided
Sum of all avoided emissions: paper production, printing, transport, travel, and tree preservation. The final result reflects the total environmental impact.

How is the environmental impact calculated?
We use a robust and transparent methodology that considers four main factors:
1) Pages avoided - we count all pages that would be printed (complete document x number of signers) with a 20% safety margin.
2) Trees preserved - based on the ratio of 5,000 pages per tree.
3) Water saved - 12 liters per page in production + 300ml per print.
4) CO2 avoided - complete sum of emissions from paper production, transport to notaries (70km per signer x 1,000g CO2/km) and printing (55g per page).
All values include a 20% margin of error to ensure conservative and realistic estimates.
