This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Signater — Signater LLC and Signater Tecnologia Ltda ("Signater", "we") — uses on the signater.com website and the app.signater.com application (together, the "Platform"), what they are for, how long they remain on your device, and how you can manage your preferences. This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we handle personal data.
1.1 Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your browser, remember your choices, and collect information about how you interact with its pages.
1.2 Alongside cookies, we use technologies that serve equivalent purposes, such as browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), vendor scripts and SDKs, and measurement tags and pixels. In this Policy, "cookies" covers all of these technologies unless stated otherwise.
1.3 Some cookies are set directly by us (first-party cookies); others are set by vendors that provide services to Signater, such as usage analytics, support, and security (third-party cookies). The vendors named in this Policy are also listed on our Subprocessors page.
2.1 We use cookies and similar technologies to:
3.1 Necessary. Essential for the operation and security of the Platform — for example, authentication, session handling, bot protection, and recording your cookie preferences. These cookies are used on the basis of performing the service and Signater's legitimate interest in keeping the Platform secure and operational, and cannot be switched off through the preferences panel. The Affiliate Program cookies (TrackingAff and TrackingVisitorId) are also always on, although the Platform works without them: when you arrive through a referral link, they record the affiliate's code and a random visit identifier, based on Signater's legitimate interest in honoring its contracts with affiliates. For that reason, they are not turned off together with marketing cookies.
3.2 Functional. Offer conveniences — for example, the support chat, the Google sign-in prompt and, in the application, interface preferences such as theme. Without them, some conveniences stop working, but you can still browse.
3.3 Analytics. Help us understand how visitors and users interact with the Platform — pages visited, interactions, performance, and errors — including through session recording and replay tools. We use this information to improve the product.
3.4 Marketing. Record where your visit came from (campaign parameters, referring page, ad click identifiers) and allow us to measure campaign effectiveness.
4.1 On your first visit to the website, we display a cookie notice. Functional, analytics, and marketing cookies are enabled by default, based on Signater's legitimate interest in offering conveniences, improving the Platform, and measuring its campaigns, and you can turn them off at any time, as explained in section 4.3.
4.2 Your preferences are recorded in the signater_consent cookie for up to 12 months. When it expires, or if you delete it, the default settings in section 4.1 apply again and the cookie notice is shown again; you can turn categories off again at any time, as explained in section 4.3.
4.3 You can change your preferences at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the page footer. Turning a category off takes effect going forward: when you turn off marketing, the website deletes Signater's campaign attribution cookies (the Tracking* family, except the Affiliate Program ones) from your browser, and the technologies you turned off stop loading from the next page on. Cookies that vendors have already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them.
4.4 Turning off non-essential cookies does not prevent you from browsing the site, creating an account, or using the Platform. Only the necessary cookies described in the tables below, except the Affiliate Program ones, are a technical condition for operation.
5.1 The table below lists the cookies and technologies used on the website. Where the lifetime is controlled by the technology's vendor, we indicate "set by the provider".

5.2 The website also uses the Sentry service for error monitoring. That service does not store cookies on your device; the technical data collected in that context is described in the Privacy Policy.
6.1 The application relies mainly on browser storage to keep your session and preferences, along with the same analytics vendors as the website. The categories and purposes described in this Policy apply equally to the technologies used in the application. The choices made through the "Cookie preferences" link apply only to the website. In the application, the analytics and marketing technologies listed below run on the basis of Signater's legitimate interest, regardless of those choices, and you can object to their use through the contact channels in section 10.

6.2 The application also uses the Sentry service for error monitoring, including replays of the session around an error with on-screen text and images masked, which keep a session marker in tab storage (sessionStorage). Real-time connections to our servers keep screens up to date and store nothing on your device.
7.1 In addition to Signater's preferences panel, you can manage cookies directly in your browser settings: block them, restrict third-party cookies, or delete cookies already stored. Each browser has its own settings path; consult the help documentation for the browser you use.
7.2 If you block or delete necessary cookies, parts of the Platform may stop working properly — for example, sign-in, session handling, and language preferences.
8.1 The Platform does not automatically respond to browser signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT). To turn off non-essential technologies, use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Where the law applicable to you gives binding effect to such signals, you can exercise the corresponding rights through that link or through the contact channels in section 10.
9.1 We may update this Policy at any time, for example when we adopt or discontinue technologies. Material changes will be announced with reasonable prior notice, by a notice on the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after the new version takes effect constitutes acceptance of it. The current version will always be available at signater.com/cookie-policy.
