If you already recommend tools to clients, colleagues, or your audience, the Signater affiliate program gives you a way to turn those recommendations into recurring revenue.
You can share Signater through a referral link or coupon and earn 20% of every subscription payment your referred customers make, for as long as they remain subscribed.
Everything is managed directly inside Signater. You can create referral links and coupons, track performance, and manage your commissions without using a separate affiliate platform.
Want to share the program with someone first? The Signater affiliate program page has a quick overview of how it works.
Who can join the Signater affiliate program?
Any admin of a Signater account can join the affiliate program, including users on the Free plan.
It's especially useful if you already recommend business software or e-signature tools as part of your work or content, including:
- accounting and bookkeeping firms;
- lawyers and law firms;
- consultants;
- agencies;
- operations and process specialists;
- business and technology creators.
Accounts managed by white-label resellers aren't eligible for the affiliate program.
How to activate the affiliate program
You can activate the program directly from your Signater account:
- Open Refer & earn in the sidebar.
- Review and accept the affiliate program terms.
- Click Activate program.
Once the program is active, you can create referral links and discount coupons and start sharing them.
Referral links vs. coupons
Both options connect customers to your affiliate account, but they work differently.
Referral links
A referral link takes visitors to the Signater website with your affiliate code attached.
When someone clicks your link, a cookie tracks the referral for 30 days. If they create a Signater account during that period and their first invoice is issued within 30 days of signing up, the customer is attributed to you.
That means the referral window can span up to 60 days from the initial click to the first charge.
You can create up to 5 referral links. Using a different link for each channel makes it easier to see where your referrals are coming from—for example, one link for your newsletter and another for your social profile.
Attribution uses last click. If a visitor later clicks another affiliate's referral link before signing up, the most recent affiliate link gets the referral.
Discount coupons
Coupons work without a click. The customer enters your code when subscribing and receives 10% off their subscription for as long as they remain subscribed.
The coupon also connects the customer directly to your affiliate account, so there is no attribution window.
You can create up to 5 coupons, using custom codes between 3 and 30 characters made up of letters, numbers, and hyphens.
Coupons are useful when the recommendation happens outside a link—for example, during a client meeting, presentation, video, phone call, or conversation.
If a customer uses both your referral link and a coupon, the coupon takes precedence.
How much can you earn?
You earn 20% of the subscription amount your referred customer pays. If the customer uses a discount coupon, the commission is calculated after the discount.
For example, on the monthly Business plan at $79:
| How the customer subscribed | Customer pays | Your commission |
|---|---|---|
| Referral link | $79.00 | $15.80 |
| 10% coupon | $71.10 | $14.22 |
Ten customers on that plan using your coupon would generate $142.20 in monthly commissions.
And the commission isn't a one-time payment. You continue earning 20% for as long as each referred customer remains subscribed.
One-time purchases, such as extra envelope packs, don't generate affiliate commissions.
After a customer pays an invoice, the corresponding commission remains pending for seven days. After that period, it becomes available for withdrawal.
How do affiliate payouts work?
Once your available balance reaches $100, you can request a withdrawal from your affiliate dashboard.
Payouts are made through PayPal or bank transfer, depending on the payout method you've configured.
Each withdrawal includes your full available balance. The Signater team reviews the request before processing the payment.
Manage everything from the affiliate dashboard
The affiliate program has its own dashboard inside Signater, organized into three areas:
- Performance: track clicks, sign-ups, referred customers, and overall results.
- Promotion: create and manage referral links, coupons, and marketing materials.
- Finance: review commissions, withdrawals, and payout methods.
You can also filter performance data by period and by individual link or coupon.
That makes it easier to answer questions like: Does your newsletter generate more customers than your videos? Which coupon converts better? Which channel is actually driving subscriptions?
Why recommend Signater?
An affiliate program works best when you can explain in a few words why the product is useful to the people you're recommending it to.
Here are a few Signater features that can make that conversation easier:
- The full year's envelope allowance upfront: annual plans make the entire year's envelope allowance available from day one instead of resetting a monthly balance.
- Unlimited users on paid plans: teams can use a paid account without paying an additional fee for each user.
- Up to 40% off annual plans: a useful option for customers who already know they'll be using Signater throughout the year.
- SMS included with Business: Business plans include signer verification by text message without per-message fees.
And for customers who aren't ready to commit, Signater has a Free plan with no credit card required, making it easy to try the platform before subscribing.
Affiliate program rules to know
A few rules are particularly important to keep in mind:
- You can't earn commissions by referring your own Signater account.
- Accounts that share a user with your affiliate account aren't considered referred customers.
- Accounts managed by resellers aren't eligible for the affiliate program.
- Paid advertising that uses the Signater brand as a keyword isn't allowed under the program terms.
For the complete requirements and restrictions, see the Signater affiliate program terms.
Affiliate program or reseller program?
Both programs can help you build a business around Signater, but they're designed for different models.
The affiliate program is for people who want to recommend Signater and earn recurring commissions without managing the customer's account.
The reseller program is designed for businesses that want to offer Signater as part of their own services, manage customer accounts, and operate under their own brand.
If you want to start by referring Signater, create your Signater account and activate the program from Refer & earn.
